Fewer than 87 estates on earth may call their leaf Darjeeling. We work with a small circle of these GI-registered gardens — gardens we know by name, visit in season, and stand behind on the tin. The circle begins, as the house did, at Giddapahar.

The Eagle's Cliff. One of Darjeeling's smallest gardens, family-owned since the nineteenth century, its century-old Chinary bushes climbing from 4,500 feet above the Kurseong valley. Every tea in our collection is plucked, made and tasted here.

A garden enters this page the way a tea enters the collection: after seasons of tasting, a visit to the hillside, and an agreement we can stand behind. As new partnerships with GI-registered gardens are formalised, each will be introduced here with its own name, altitude and history — never before.
